This 5 Days Uganda Gorilla Tour takes you two amazing Uganda national parks that protect the mountain gorillas; Mgahinga National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Day 1: Pick up from Kigali & Transfer to Mgahinga National Park
We will pick you up from Kigali. Travel north to the Mgahinga National Park. You will have a stopover at the Twin Lakes that are located close to the Volcanoes National Park of Rwanda. Cross the border via the Cyanika Border. Have lunch enroute. Proceed to the Kisoro Travelers Rest where you will stay an overnight. Overnight at Kisoro Travelers Rest (Budget) / Lake Mulehe Lodge (Midrange) / Mount Gahinga Lodge (Luxury)
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga
Breakfast will be served early. Transfer to Ntebeko Visitor Information Center for a briefing about the gorilla trek. Get briefed about gorilla tracking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Enter the bamboo forest and begin your search for the mountain gorillas in the jungles of the park.
The ranger guide will give you highlights of specific details about the way of life of the gorillas you will be tracking. The hike can take anything from 1 to 8 hours. Trekking through the bamboo forest of Mgahinga and then finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation is an inspiring and privileged moment. On finding the mountain gorillas, you will be allowed to spend up to maximum one hour watching them from 6 meters away – a regulation the Gorillas don’t seem to heed themselves.
After the trek, have lunch. Travel to Southern Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Overnight at Rushaga Haven Lodge (Budget) / Rushaga Gorilla Camp (Midrange) / Chameleon Hill Lodge (Luxury)
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park
Breakfast will be served early. Transfer to Nkuringo for a briefing about the gorilla trek. Go on a guided gorilla trekking expedition into Bwindi. The ranger guide will give you highlights of specific details about the way of life of the gorillas you will be tracking. The hike can take anything from 1 to 8 hours. Trekking through the thick forested hills of Bwindi and then finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation is an inspiring and privileged moment. On finding the mountain gorillas, you will be allowed to spend up to maximum one hour watching them from 6 meters away – a regulation the Gorillas don’t seem to heed themselves. After the trek, have a hot meal. In the evening, take a local community tour. Overnight at Rushaga Haven Lodge (Budget) / Rushaga Gorilla Camp (Midrange) / Chameleon Hill Lodge (Luxury)
Day 4: Travel Back to Kigali
After breakfast, embark on a return trip to Kigali. Drop off at your preferred point.
